Zebra printers not reporting in Avalanche 6.0

Zebra printers are not shown in the inventory in Avalanche 6.0. This is due to a very old version of Enabler being used in the current firmware in the Zebra printers.
Wavelink have advised this issue will be fixed in Avalanche 6.1.

However, I found this Wavelink blog article which shows how to resolve this issue in Avalanche 6.0 and I decided to test this out.

https://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-33311

Printer:  Zebra QLn320

Test:

1. Assuming the Zebra printer has been setup to connect to Avalanche 6.0, turn on the printer.
2. Once the printer receives its IP address it will connect to Avalanche and perform an update.

3. The printer reported Avalanche update complete.

So until this point there is no issue from the printer side connecting to Avalanche 6.0.

4. Now looking at the inventory in Avalanche 6.0 the printer does not appear. At this stage I decided to follow the Wavelink blog and try the fix suggested.

The fix suggested is as follows:

1. On the Wavelink server Stop all Landesk and Wavelink related services.
2. Download an updated copy of enterprisecommon.jar from here
3. Rename Wavelink\Avalanche\Lib\enterprisecommon.jar to enterprisecommon.oldjar
4. Copy the downloaded enterprisecommon.jar to Wavelink\Avalanche\Lib
5. Restart all Landesk and Wavelink services.
6. Log back into the Avalanche console.

The printer now appears in the console.

To test further I deployed a package to the printer and checked the setting applied on the printer as well.
In Avalanche the status of the printer also shows as Updated.
