Just started a complex project to upgrade Wavelink Avalanche 4.8 to Avalanche 6.0. The upgrade from 4.8 to 6.0 is a long path. The following path needs to be taken for the upgrade:
4.8 - 5.0 -5.3 - 6.0
Another way to upgrade is to perform a side by side install. In this scenario a new Avalanche 6.0 environment is setup on the side of Avalanche 4.8. The devices connected to 4.8 environment can be slowly migrated to new 6.0 environment. The device migration will be covered in a later post in more detail.
A big change moving to Avalanche 6.0 is that it no longer supports PostGres database and requires a SQL database.
